Pest Exclusion Mapping in Schaumburg: Helping a local exterminator identify 4 hidden squirrel entry points in 20 minutes

Standard pest inspections often rely on guesswork or dangerous ladder climbs because the most common entry points for squirrels are hidden in roof “returns” and valleys that are physically impossible to see from the ground.

We partnered with a local Schaumburg exterminator who knew squirrels were in the attic but couldn’t find the “front door.” ZeroLadder performed a high-precision orbit of the entire roofline, flying our 4K camera within inches of the dormer returns and behind gutter lines—the primary blind spots of a traditional inspection. We looked for more than just holes; we scanned for “smudge marks” (oil from fur) and fresh wood shavings around the soffit screens. By hovering at peak height against the brick siding, we captured macro-evidence of shredded mesh and teeth marks on the cedar fascia that would have taken a technician hours of dangerous ladder work to find manually.

We identified four distinct entry points in a single 20-minute flight. The exterminator used our visual map to provide a same-day, accurate repair quote, ensuring the squirrels were locked out for good without the homeowner paying for “exploratory” trapping fees
